Says.

He says

'there's nothing wrong'
'you look fine - '
But the lingering doubt
remains-
Two children,
medications.
Injury.
The body has changed
; flabby and soft
where activity once
helped.
He reacted
at the tv recently.
'eugh' he said.
at a person with a belly, on a beach.
Quietly, I was saddened.
I have a flappy belly
I remind myself
'you have had two children.. your body has
changed'.
If you say something
he'll say
'You're fine, don't be sensitive.'
so you sit in silence.
He said recently
'You're too out of shape for a hike'
as though I were a limitation.
What I feel is limiTED.
Where do you walk
with two children, at a pace that serves.
Where do you go, with a budget
to work out
-?
You don't.
You sit, you fret, and just hope
eventually
he finds his passions
again
and maybe
turns to you.
